Jill Ritchie

Director

Jill Ritchie has spent over 30 years advising and raising money for causes as diverse as anti-apartheid organisations, environmental projects and the performing arts. She has raised over R2 billion for Southern African organisations and has written 28 books, mainly focused on fundraising.

She heads up Papillon Press and Consulting in South Africa, and spends her time between Cape Town and London.

Jill holds the London City & Guilds International Diploma in Teaching and Training and is qualified as a fundraising trainer. She lectures in Fundraising and Marketing at the University of Stellenbosch Business School.

Combining a background in commerce and marketing, as well as her extensive experience as a writer, Jill consults on all aspects of fundraising

She is a former member of the Council of the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) and serves on the Council of the South African National Museum. She is also a Fellow of the Southern Africa Institute of Fundraising (SAIF) and a member of the UK Chartered Institute of Fundraising.

She chairs the UK Fund for Charities as well as the SA-UK Trust Network, which she formed. Both are based in London.

Jill received the SA Chamber of Commerce, UK Giving Back Award for 2015 and Brand South Africa’s Play Your Part Award for 2017.
